Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Assembly Technician to join our dynamic team at Brooks Machine and Design in our climate-controlled shop 15 minutes outside Raleigh, NC.
As an Assembly Technician at Brooks, you will play a crucial role in the production process, responsible for assembly of complex robotic automation cells, ensuring a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and adherence to assembly processes and procedures.
This role requires the ability to interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings and models, as well as manage multiple build projects simultaneously.
Key
Responsibilities:
Leadership and Work Ethic:
Provide strong leadership on the manufacturing floor, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic among assembly technicians and with other groups.
Assembly Processes and Procedures:
Demonstrate a firm grasp of assembly processes and procedures, ensuring that all work is carried out efficiently, accurately, and in accordance with established quality standards.
Attention to Detail:
Uphold a commitment to attention to detail in all assembly tasks, ensuring that the final product meets or exceeds customer specifications.
Interpretation of Drawings and Models:
Ability to interpret both mechanical and electrical drawings and models to guide assembly processes and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
Project Management:
Manage multiple build projects simultaneously, coordinating resources, tracking progress, and ensuring timely completion of each project.
Quality Control:
Implement and oversee quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of workmanship in the assembly process.
Training and Development:
Provide training and guidance to assembly technicians, fostering skill development and ensuring a well-trained and efficient workforce.
Continuous Improvement:
Work with engineering in a team-oriented effort to reduce non-conforming parts and builds, improve designs, increase manufacturability, and reduce rework
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications are a plus.
10 years of experience in assembly and/or as an industrial maintenance tech at a manufacturing plant, with a proven track record of leadership on the manufacturing floor.
Ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings and models.
Strong understanding of assembly processes and procedures in an automation context.
Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple build projects simultaneously.
Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Legal authorization to work in the USA is required.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills and a strong mechanical aptitude.
Ability to interpret and implement specifications and drawing packages.
