We are currently seeking a Mechanic Technician for our Zebulon, NC location.

Essential Functions:
Assists the Machine Operator in ensuring mechanical and computerized equipment is set up to specification, operates, and meets company quality, quantity, efficiency and safety standards.
Studies technical drawings, P&ID, Electrical schematics, facility drawings and other specifications to ensure the proper setup sequence is followed.
Monitors the machine operation by doing regular visual checks of machine and control equipment.
Assists the Machine Operator with setting and adjusting necessary controls to regulate equipment to meet product specifications, throughput, production yield, etc.
Verifies measuring instruments and control equipment such as pressure gauges, temperature sensors, level sensors, electric motors, pumps, and valves are in proper working order.
Monitors fixtures and feeding devices during operation Partners with Machine Operator to closely monitor feed rates, temperature, and fuel output Troubleshoots mechanical and computer operated equipment and makes necessary repairs as needed.
Performs routine maintenance and repairs of equipment.
Assists with the installation and startup of equipment Collaborate with other team members, such as Engineering and R&D, to ensure that equipment is in proper working order and provides continuous feedback to the engineering team regarding equipment performance and improvements.
Notifies Plant Manager, Machine Operator, and engineering team when system needs to be powered down for major maintenance and/or repair.
Assists and facilitate major system maintenance and repairs.
Complies with all company and regulatory safety rules.

Must be able to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English to complete work efficiently, effectively, and safely.
Education &
Experience:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent.
At least five (5) years of experience as a Mechanic required.
Thorough understanding of mechanics and other properties of machines.
Understanding of computers, control, automation and monitoring software.
Knowledge of equipment including bale breakers, belt conveyor systems, and feeders.
Mechanical and electrical Proficiency including hand tools, electronic testing devices, power tools, welding, etc.
Competence in troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems using various analytical equipment such as a voltmeter.
Experience with welding operations in accordance with appropriate welding procedure specification.
(preferred) Certifications & Licenses:
TIG or MIG Certificate (preferred) Certified Electrician (preferred) Physical & Safety Requirements:
Prolonged periods standing, sitting, walking, pulling, pushing, stretching, twisting, reaching, kneeling, stooping and bending with your body, arms, and/or legs.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds at times.
Must be able to bend, stretch, squat, and climb to access all parts of the machine.
Must wear job specific personal protective equipment (PPE).
This includes your willingness and ability to be properly clean shaven as per OSHA Standard and company policy when donning a respirator, so that a respirator/self-contained breathing apparatus can seal properly.
In addition, you must pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE.
(As per OSHA guidelines.
) Participation in all safety and OSHA trainings.
Candidates must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
